Michigan Engineering Honors Kedrick Adkins With 2008 Merit Award
Novi, Michigan (Oct. 13, 2008). The University of Michigan’s Industrial and Operations Engineering Alumni Society presented Kedrick D. Adkins, Jr., President of Integrated Services, Trinity Health, with the 2008 Merit Award at an alumni event during homecoming weekend on Oct. 3. He also delivered the society’s annual seminar to faculty, students and alumni.
Mr. Adkins is responsible for the complete span of financial services, treasury, information technology, supply-chain management, procurement, and insurance and risk management. He is a member of the Office of the President, serves on the Executive Management Group and on the Senior Leadership Council.
Prior to joining Trinity, Mr. Adkins was a senior partner at Accenture, most recently serving as U.S. Country Managing Director and Chief Diversity Officer for the global consulting, technology services and outsourcing company. Highly respected within the healthcare community, Mr. Adkins was considered one of Accenture’s pioneers and experts in the health insurance and managed care industry during his impressive thirty-year career with the company.
Recognized as an industry leader, his experience includes strategy development, technology planning, systems design, installation and process re-engineering for hospitals and health systems, physician-based organizations, national and international managed care companies, indemnity health insurers, numerous Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans and government health agencies.
Mr. Adkins currently serves on the University of Michigan College of Engineering Advisory Council, and on the board of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan’s Blue Care Network. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial and Operations Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration Degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Michigan.
