Think medical screenings don’t help? Think Again.

Ann Arbor, Mich. – Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS) has provided thousands of people with free medical screening over the years. Often, the screenings offer reassurance to the patients that nothing is wrong. Other times, a patient is sent to a specialist for evaluation when an abnormality is detected.

Many lives have been impacted through free medical screenings, because early detection is key to a successful recovery. Prostate screenings are easy, free and performed by prostate cancer specialists. They are private and they often times can save a life.

“I am so thankful when we can help people in our community through outreach such as this. Catching cancer early makes my treatment processes much easier. My single biggest recommendation to men is to have an annual physical and attend screenings when they are offered,” adds Dr. Tim McHugh, chairman of the cancer care committee and a Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital System urologist.
