About
Dr. Melanie Taylor is the medical director of Mercy Health Hauenstein Neurosciences Neuromuscular Program and clinic director for both the ALS and MDA clinics. Both the ALS and MDA clinics are recognized as national certified centers of excellence by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Dr. Taylor is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at Michigan State University Department of Neurology.
Melanie is a graduate of Michigan State University and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed her residency in adult neurology and a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at Cleveland Clinic.
Under Dr. Taylor’s leadership the Mercy Health ALS Program is recognized as a member of the Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS), an international group of researchers who collaboratively conduct clinical research in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and other motor neuron diseases. Clinical trials are conducted at the Clinical Trials Unit at the Mercy Health Saint Mary’s campus in downtown Grand Rapids.
