Hometown: Jos, Nigeria Medical School: Caribbean Medical University School of Medicine. Hobbies/Interest: Learning a new language, playing games, practicing my flute, reading, taking walks, going out to eat and I'm always up to try new things, recipes, places or activities, most recent playing pickleball. Why I Chose Trinity Health Livonia: I was able to do a few shadowing shifts here, which gave me the chance to see how the ED worked before applying, and I really liked it. I got a strong sense of the program’s culture during my interview, where the residents were well-trained, and the environment felt positive and supportive such that I could grow into an amazing physician. I have also only heard great things from a family member who previously matched here, which made my decision a no brainer.

Hometown: Novi, Michigan Medical School: American University of Antigua Hobbies/Interest: Lego, puzzles, sitcoms, cooking, baking, collecting crystals, traveling, amusement parks, reading, spending time with my sweet dogs Why I Chose Trinity Health Livonia: We're all looking for a program that will provide us with the right experience and training to make us a well-rounded physician in the end, but it was really important for me to match into a program that had a close-knit family feel among the residents. THLH really stood out to me with the way everyone spoke so highly of each other and the culture that is present in the program, after my interview it honestly made me think "this is the one." Everyone has been so warm and welcoming since I started, and even though the transition from medical student to resident is scary, I have felt supported and uplifted since day one, giving me the confidence and drive to succeed on every shift.

Hometown: Chesterton, Indiana Medical School: Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine Hobbies/Interest: Proud cat mom to 3 beautiful children (Hannibal, Lillith, and Prosciutto), amateur Italian chef, psychological thriller/horror movies, Chicago sports (GO BEARS!), live music (anything from dubstep/riddim to classic 80s rock to French jazz), American traditional style tattoos, fine art and couture fashion Why I Chose Trinity Health Livonia: Our incredibly intelligent faculty care deeply about resident education and wellbeing; I felt genuinely supported and welcomed from day one. Because of our patient population, you will be very well trained on managing medically challenging cases. Additionally, training at a Level II community hospital with limited additional residency/fellowship programs allows you to be responsible for the majority of situations that come through the ED.
